How to keep score in Farkle
- Add each player in the order you sit, up to eight, before the first turn.
- Set the winning score and the points needed to get on the board if your table plays other numbers. The defaults are 10,000 and 500, as in our game.
- When a player banks, type the points for the turn and press Bank. Or tap the dice they set aside after each roll and press Add to turn, and the sheet totals them.
- When a roll scores nothing, press Farkle (0). The turn passes on and that player keeps the total they had.
- Watch the line above the sheet. It says who rolls next, calls the final round when someone reaches the winning score, and names the winner after the last turn.
- Press Undo last turn to fix a mistake, or Print a blank sheet for a game on paper.
The sheet lives in this browser only, so it isn't sent anywhere. Players are fixed once the first turn is recorded, because turns go round the table in order; names can change at any time.
Farkle scoring chart
These are the values our 10,000 game uses. 1s and 5s score on their own; 2s, 3s, 4s and 6s score only as three or more of a kind. Each extra die of the same number doubles the three-of-a-kind value, and a combination counts only when it comes up in a single roll.
| Dice | 1s | 2s | 3s | 4s | 5s | 6s |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single die | 100 | - | - | - | 50 | - |
| Three of a kind | 1,000 | 200 | 300 | 400 | 500 | 600 |
| Four of a kind | 2,000 | 400 | 600 | 800 | 1,000 | 1,200 |
| Five of a kind | 4,000 | 800 | 1,200 | 1,600 | 2,000 | 2,400 |
| Six of a kind | 8,000 | 1,600 | 2,400 | 3,200 | 4,000 | 4,800 |
| Straight, 1-2-3-4-5-6 | 1,500 |
|---|---|
| Three pairs, such as 2-2-4-4-6-6 | 1,500 |
House rules that change the score
Farkle has no single rulebook, so agree on these before the first roll. The sheet handles the first two with its settings. For the rest, add up the turn the way your table scores it and type the total.
- Tables play to anything from 5,000 for a quick game to 20,000 for a long one; 10,000 is usual.
- The 500 needed in one turn to get on the board is set anywhere from 350 to 1,000, and some tables play without one.
- Many rule sets pay a flat 1,000, 2,000 and 3,000 for four, five and six of a kind instead of doubling.
- A straight pays anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000, and three pairs from 750 to 2,000.
- Some tables take 1,000 off a player's total for three Farkles in a row.
Farkle score sheet FAQ
Is there a Farkle score sheet?
Yes, this page is one. Keep score on it with a phone or laptop at the table, or press Print a blank sheet for a paper copy with six player columns, 24 turns and the scoring chart. Both are free, and the online sheet saves itself in your browser.
How many points are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in Farkle?
A single 1 scores 100 and a single 5 scores 50. The other numbers score only as three of a kind or more: three 2s are 200, three 3s 300, three 4s 400, three 5s 500 and three 6s 600, while three 1s are worth 1,000.
What is the score for rolling 5 of a kind in 10,000 dice?
In our game five of a kind is worth four times the three-of-a-kind value: five 1s score 4,000, five 2s 800 and five 6s 2,400. Many tables pay a flat 2,000 instead, so agree on the value before the first roll.
Is the 10,000 dice game the same as Farkle?
Yes. 10,000, or Ten Thousand, is Farkle named after its usual winning score, and it also goes by Zilch, Zonk, Greed and Dix Mille. Scoring changes more from table to table than from name to name, which is why the chart on this page shows the values our game uses.
What happens when someone reaches 10,000?
Reaching 10,000 doesn't end the game; it starts the final round. Every other player gets one more turn to pass that total, and then the highest score wins. The score sheet tracks the final round and names the winner once the last turn is in.
