The 12-box dice game Yahtzee grew from, in print by 1938. Roll five dice up to three times a turn and fill one box each round. There are no bonuses, so the best possible game is 297.
10,000
A push-your-luck game with six dice. Set scoring dice aside, then bank your turn total or roll on; a roll with no scoring dice wipes the turn. Reaching 10,000 starts the final round, and the highest total wins.
